The Salmon of Knowledge is an Irish Legend of a Salmon living in a river in a deep Rockpool below overhanging hazel trees. It was believed the salmon had eaten the magical nuts from the overhanging trees and had gained all the knowledge in the world. Whoever caught the salmon and ate from it would In turn acquire all the knowledge of the world.
